Organic Garden Club Agreement

Program Purpose

The Organic Garden Club program supports school communities through hands-on garden education, seasonal planting, fresh produce, and opportunities for students to engage with healthy food from soil to plate.

School Responsibilities

• Provide a designated garden location with appropriate sun, water access, and soil suitability
• Designate a school contact person for scheduling, communication, and seasonal coordination
• Provide student supervision during garden-related activities, in line with the school's standard supervision and volunteer policies
• Support ongoing communication regarding maintenance schedules, access windows, and seasonal planning
• Notify My Kid's Lunch of any school-policy changes that affect outdoor activities, vendor access, or student participation

My Kid's Lunch Responsibilities

• Provide planting plans, seeds/starts, and seasonal care guidance
• Coordinate maintenance visits aligned with the school's calendar
• Use organic, kid-safe practices for soil amendment, pest management, and irrigation where feasible
• Support classroom integration and harvest planning when requested

Garden Care and Maintenance

Maintenance schedules, planting plans, and seasonal support are coordinated in advance. Specific responsibilities and visit cadence should be confirmed with the school and the My Kid's Lunch garden team before each season begins.

Student Participation and Safety

Students participate in garden activities under appropriate school supervision. Schools should follow their own safety, student-supervision, and volunteer policies in connection with any garden work, including but not limited to allergy awareness, sun protection, and tool handling.

Produce and Educational Use

Produce grown through the program may be used for classroom education, food-service support, family take-home, donation, or other school-approved uses as agreed upon by the parties involved.

Scheduling and Communication

Planting dates, maintenance visits, classroom integration, harvest planning, and seasonal scheduling are coordinated through the designated program contacts at the school and at My Kid's Lunch.

Agreement Updates

This program framework is updated as needed to reflect the scope of the current school partnership, including timelines, responsibilities, and contact details. The signed agreement on file with each participating school is the operative document for that partnership.
